So she gave birth to the Miracle child

DOING my patient rounds , walking down the hospital halls, THERE is a story in every room . The kind of stories that when you hear it ,you cannot help it not to think about destiny, faith and life in general. Stories that are mostly heart breaking and life changing .

room 544 ,patient name Fatima , she was admitted with health care associated pneumonia. She is 58 years lady who is bed bound since 8 year. Whenever we enter her room we find this girl who looked different with her distinctive features. I knew later that she is Ftima's daughter , she is very welcoming and always smiling

Fatima is the only daughter with 5 brothers, a high school English teacher, happily married to Awadh who is 5th grade teacher. Awadh was an only child, may be that was the reason why he wanted a big family.

She always wanted a daughter, she wanted to name her Mariam after her deceased mother, especially that she has 3 sons who are wearing her out all day long but she loved them so much ,she even left her career just to be around them and watch over them as they often put themselves in a very risky and endangering situations, like the one time when they sprayed the fire on the stove with a body spray and almost burn down the whole neighborhood.

In order to have Mariam ,Fatima tried to be pregnant 4 times after her first born son, but she ended up with 2 more boys and 2 miscarriages. Then in the 6th pregnancy she almost fainted from excitement when her OB/GYN gave her the news that she is pregnant with a girl. Her husband also was happy and he felt as he got everything he wished for in his life.

the pregnancy went very smoothly without any complications. Fatima was dreaming and fantasizing over and over about the moment her baby girl will arrive to this world. EVERYTHING SEEMED WONDERFUL LOVELY AND PERFECT.

The time has came 5 month later ,and Fatima in labor now, Mariam took a long time to come out . Fatima developed a very high blood pressure for which he needed to be given an intravenous medication . And FINALLY after 16 hours OF agonizing labor Mariam was born. But something was not right, the doctor and the midwife looked at the baby in very strange way as if they cannot believe what they are seeing . Fatima asked to see her baby ,but the doctor and his staff looked at each and seemed a bit sad. The baby did not cry, the pediatrician was assessing her and then she cried after he cleared out her air ways. A very exhausted Fatima smiled when she heard her little girl screaming, "she wants mommy"she thoughts, and asked again to see her . But hesitation in every molecule in the room .“what wrong?! ,is she OK, LET ME SEE HER “ Fatima said. THEY GAVE HER baby,FINALLY. She hugged her and showered her with kissed . Then the pediatrician asked to take the patient the NICU ( neonatal intensive care unit) as the baby was not breathing well and she might aspirated fluids into her lungs. Fatima felt very sad and like her glorious moment was take away from her but she still have a tremendous amount of hope.

Next day she went to the NICU they let her to feed her baby then the doctor came and told her that he need to do a genetic study for the baby as he is suspecting that she is showing few signs that could be related to a genetic abnormality. Fatima did not care about that especially that the doctor told her the baby is not in critical condition now. She was strangely too happy ad if she on the of the world.The left and Fatima was observing her beloved girl through the glass,her eyes was tearing from happiness and deep down her sole she was grateful and content to be the mother of this baby.
