The Wahhabi fairy tale or NOT

Growing in Saudi Arabia i never heard or learned about anything called Wahhabism cult . The first time i knew about it on the Internet when i was reading comments on an article about Saudi Arabia.

So what is the  truth about the Wahhabism?!!! .Well in SAUDI Arabia Wahhabi is totally something different it is not religious  at all , it is just a name of a sub-tribe of the Tameem from which Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab God rest his soul is also belong to, and even then the members of this subtribe usually goes by the name Al-Tameemi  . So no wonder I never heard of a Wahhabi sect because simply it doesn't   not exist and it is just a myth gone wild for some reason.

WHO IS he?

Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab was born and  grew up Oyyanah near Riyadh in Najd, and got his initial education there, and then traveled to Mecca and Medina, Iraq, Al-Ahsa,  taking the true  science of Islam from its resources. Then went back to his home land only to find people falling away from the the teaching of God. They were busy worshiping graves!!!, and calling the help of the dead... they also were  worshiping trees, stones ,idols ,statues (for God sake they are dead if they can help they would help them selves and be more a life!!! isn't it ?!!!) .Thing were chaotic, wars ,hunger ,hate ,lots of ignorance and many people were illiterate  and that was the situation in ALL the areas of the Arabian peninsula then. People were desperate to having sense of belonging ,unity ,safety , learning and  to the truth. Any how, Sheik Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab was to them like a wish came true and he never disappointed them ,he made it his mission to teach his people and to call for coming back the true Islam  and he did not come with a new doctrine or new Islam or anything like that . He just strove to clarify the statement of monotheism and polytheism for the people. Then after he had a good response in the Oyyanah, he went to another Nearby town called Diriyah  where he met its leader Muhammad ibn Saud, grandfather of the royal family now. Together they Pledged allegiance to spread the true guidance of  God Almighty, and the dissemination of Islam in and around Dir'iya. By this alliance Sheik GAIN a very great influence and it is until then when people started  removing the domes and  on the graves they were worshiping, and monotheism spread miles and miles   among the people. Then the State of Al-Saud spread  in the rest of the the Arabian Peninsula and the whole nation got what he always wanted to practice Islam as ALLAH wanted in very united and structure environment with preservation of their Arabian identity.

Some people from out side the Kindom accuse him, that he fought against the Ottoman Islamic caliphate the caliph of Muslims. Therefore, it is an enemy of Muslims...but the truth is that  Najd never fallen in the influence of the Ottoman Empire, and the  wars between towns of Najd  and the  conflict between the various tribes in the Arabian peninsula continued to an endless violence way of life. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Wahab did not come out fighting against the Caliphate State, but focused on  fixing the bad conditions in his hometown and his  call spread to to other areas...In the other hand the Ottoman State did not move a muscle nor did the initiative of sending out any discomfort or little controversy with what happening even though there were four of the Sultans of Othman in the life of Sheikh  bin Abdul Wahab...So Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Wahab  never was one of the factors the demolition of the Ottoman Empire especially with the knowledge that his movement began in 1811 and the Ottoman Empire demolished around 1922.

So what about women in the life of Imam invited Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Wahab?...

The Sheik improved the situation of the women at those mid evil times. They were  deprived  of their right but the Imam was supporting to women and he brough back the position of women of Islam that support women as much as men.Women in his times are heard treated well  and respected more their right to inherit ,chose their spouce and they considered a source of pride to their tribe to have a brave and influential women  .AT HIS HOME  he used go often to his wife and daughter to take their openion in various issues .  Women thrived and they shared him his mission to spread the greater good. There are many example of women heroism at that era For example a lady called Ghalyah Albogamy had the courage and leadership to defeat the  army of Tousoun bin Mohamed Ali Pasha in the 1813.

Many says he Islamic teaching  is driven  from the Wahabi sect but that is tottally wrong as it is is based on God's guidance through the Holy Quran and the Prophet Mohammad peace be up on him, so IT IS ABOUT FOLLOWING God's instructions .and if something new came up we used to go back to the holy book and the prophets says and we finds our answers there. OUR faith foundation is believing in the oneness of God and we believe that this is the foundation of every other divine religion.

IN THE END to us Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab was a great inspirational and motivational person who arose when ignorance was the dominant, he is IN MANY WAYS LIKE our Martin Luther King
