Hajj mission diaries...its over

The mission is over yesterday... it was full of successful and rewarding moments...
No one can deny Saudi Arabia's ability to overcome all the crises, with God grace of course...Despite growing skepticism about the kingdom ability to cope with the spread of H1N1...it was under control and Only 67 cases got H1N1 out of three million pilgrims from 180 countries .

In our field hospital in Mina we had about 35 cases suspected to be H1N1 they all received tamiflu and only 7 cases out of those suspected are confirmed to be POSITIVE ,ALL DID WELL AND were discharged without any complication to complete their Hajj....

As I write this, I see the faces of those poor and week elderly pilgrims flashes in my head as they get their medicine for just showing up... although there was a lot of language barriers but their eyes and hearts never lie...they always make you feel as good as they feel...

I REMEMBER EXAMINING this lady who was brought spastic .she is diabetic with liver and renal impairments ..my senior was trying to find the perfect drug to loosen her up without causing further damage to her kidney and liver...any how, she was hyperventilating ..and she was anxious ...I tried to find out what she was worried about... then she told me she lost her husband...then my nurse and I tried to comfort her and reassured her that we will take care of her and we'll never leave her until she get united with her husband... i let her breath in a bag and all her symptoms were gone few minutes later . The social worker departments did their magic and found her husband AND THEN YOU CAN TELL the rest of the story.

I remember the dramatic entrance of a 15 huge and muscular  African PILGRIMS..looking very breathless and tired , they were  CARRYING a heavy metallic chair the kind you see in parks ..i do not know how they manage to pull it out of its place ,when they put it down..they all lied on the floor out of breath  we all run there to assess the situation..they all was just tired ... as for the person on the chair I WAS EXPECTING SOMEONE IN A CRITICAL CONDITION from the way they stormed in but to my surprise  there was an old and thin man who was lying  there comfortably  conscious , who then stood up and walked to the bed ,actually he was in a good shape for his age .. he was 89 years old ...it turned out that he he has history of bronchial asthma and he felt short of breath and sleepy  and his sons and relatives  were a afraid that he  he might get sick so they brought him as fast as they can and in their own kind of way...any how we were happy for him ,he was OK ...we still laugh about it

The honor of serving them make you forget the joy of Eid between the parents and relatives ...in those days pilgrims are our families to which we are committed the most.

Today i woke up in my own bed, after sleeping for 10 hours strait SOMETHING I WAS CRAVING since the hajj mission started..but i really miss waking up a 6 o'clock daily to only find my self swarmed in seeing huge numbers of patients ..

Hajj symbolizes the unity of Muslims and their power. It is the divine message that Muslims are one nation should not be torn by their differences and conflicts. If Muslims understood this message, they would be in living in a better conditions
