So obviously the Islam is the religion of th truth other wise it would not be so popular. ALSO there must be something the anti Islamic ignorants are missing or in more correct term cant comprehend. But what he do Islam was sent to all humanity to guide them to the correct path and it is here to spread and some one like wilders can do any thing about it except crying over and all just talk .

Those non believers are trying to raise suspicions that the marriage of the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him from lady Aisha and accusing him of bing pedophile(God forbid)!!!.

My question to wilders if you condemn Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him he marriage to Aisha when she was young, what do you think of the prophets of your Bible, which has been described as adulterers and criminals like David (God forbid) , or thieves Jacob (God forbid),and considering them worshipers of idols like Solomon( God forbid) . . . ?!

Is not it strange their refusal to the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him the legitimate marriage of Lady Aisha ,yet they accepted from the Torah that their Prophets practice incest like prophet Lot peace be upon him and Judah, and they fornicate and kill not only unjustly but also to reach the committed adultery as in the story of the Prophet David, peace be upon him and the wife of Uriah may.

Perhaps Christians and Jews do not read their book and do not know their religion well....Or may be their priests always hide facts ...At a time when they claim that there ia a large age difference between the Prophet and Lady Aisha when she was nine years,we find that the Virgin Mary she was married (or engaged) to the Joseph and Jesus Christ was born ..she was 12 years only, while Joseph was About (89) .. Means greater than about 77 years .. This informmation is documented in the Catholic Encyclopedia ...

" a respectable man to espouse Mary, then twelve to fourteen years of age, Joseph, who was at the time ninety years old "

the Talmud itself authorized the occurrence of such relationship, although much younger age for a girls as you can see in the following :

* 55 Commandment of the Talmud Sanhedrin: "A Jew may marry a three-year-old girl, and more specifically three years old and a day"
* 54 Commandment of the Talmud Sanhedrin: "A Jew may have sex with a child as long as a child under the age of nine."
* Wills Tollbooth 11 of the Talmud: "The cohabitation with a grown man and a young girl is sexually normal" .

So as you can see in Jewish religion the sexual relationship with a three years old girls not a strange, HOW pedophile is that!! I'm disgusted and speechless....you would say this is old testimonials, no this is your religions which you chose to follow....At least in Islam the married couple both must be mature mentally and physically and with both consenting to it, usually the very young partner interviewed to know if he or she really ready .

Beside at that time of the prophet it was OK to marry someone who are younger in age, regardless of the difference between the two parties . Away from Middle Ages to modern times to return to after 14 centuries of Islam, we will find that the age of sexual compatibility is still low in many areas. All this is happening in accordance with the law after fourteen centuries since the marriage of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him to Aisha ! .We can also note that these different countries vary in different regions and cultural backgrounds and allow sex at an early age, if so why some people refuse to respect the choice of the nation lived 14 centuries ago? It is not possible nor realistic to force other nations to follow the American or Western ideology as to what is acceptable or unacceptable! and to judge the Prophet with the currents ideology especially for something was normal and regulated by another set of laws before 14 centuries during which those young people were aware ,accepting even welcoming the idea of being involved in marital relationship. Also you should know that the legal age for sex and marriage was the age of ten in Britain and America itself in 1885.

However , this who think that the Prophet married a wife at the age of his daughter, or a woman at the age of his mother, this does not really know who is the Prophet.The Prophet peace be upon him stayed with Khadijah at the age of his mother a quarter of a century, and although he was able to marry the most beautiful girls of Mecca, he did not .He never thought of having or being with another women and he stayed like that years after her death but Allah Almighty has another plans

It is true that the wives of the Prophet peace be upon him was chosen by God Almighty to him, to fulfill their advocacy role in in the future.


There is a very divine wisdom that God has chosen for noble Prophet this wise wife, with sharp mind and intelligence. She was miraculous in everything. She was OF GREAT HELP to the Prophet ,has a big role in Islam . She knew and understood Sharia like no one and taught it to th rest of population.

She was a poet, of very grasping memery . She narrated more than two thousand Hadiths and memorized the whole Quraan during the Prophet life.

Ata ibn Abi Rabah said: "Aisha was the most knowledgeable , the most scientific , and has the best openion and view among all people ."

Abu Musa al-Ash'ari said :" Whenever we got confused about an issue and thn asked Aisha, we always found she has knowledge about it "

Erwa said: "I never knew anyone know the fiqh ,Medicine and peotry as good as Aisha".

Lady Aisha when she got married to the Prophet was very happy and proud,She GOT the best man ever, she became the mother of all believers , who was chosen by God Almighty for his Messenger.


After the death of the Prophet AISHA WAS remembering everything and Muslims USED TO COME TO HER and ask her what would the Prophet do in certain a situations they are facing and then she would tell them. She always making sure that she and the rst of Muslim live up to the level Allah wanted.

This young Bride , occupied the prestigious location in the house of Prophet hood, and the life of the Messenger of God, and the Islamic history.

At the end i must say that despite the small minded antagonists,and their impotent barks the caravan of Islam will continue through its right straight path.

Now as we knew in Part -1 from the story that Fatima got her wish and gad a baby girl . But that baby was sick initially and had to be admitted to the intensive care unit, and also the doctors notice that she is different.

3 days later the genetic testing came and it showed that Mariam is having down syndrome. She knew what is down syndrome but she was OK WITH THAT at the time she was feeling as if her heart will burst from the love she has for this baby.

Fatima was discharged from the hospital on that day the only thing that bothered her is that she came back home without her little girl and it was nothing as she imagined it would be.

10 days later Mariam was discharged home and the happy parents threw a big party for her ( Sabie ) THAT TRADITIONALLY thrown by the parents in Saudi Arabia when their new born baby is 7 Day old.


Fatima took care of her girl she taught her how to draw, she enrolled her in a different social activities to meet with children like her. Mariam was adorable and kind , her teachers loved her and her classmate liked her. Fatima was very busy with her daughter and her sons felt very left out with the times she was always telling them to be kind to Mariam as she is special. Poor little boys they just felt that their mommy not around as before because they are not special enough. Awadh was growing a part from his wife as Fatima did not give him any much rule in Mariam life except for driving them around to their destination. Fatima was so swamped in making Mariam lead a more normal life that she did not notice that she lost watching over the rest of the family .

Life continued and the family kept on struggling to stay as a unit ,especially with the frequent fights between the parents .

At one day Fatima got this call telling her that her husband found dead in a car crash. FATIMA was devastated and she started to get sick day by day, and after the 3 days of the father death Fatima became bedridden and the boys had to learn how to take care of themselves but Mariam who was 14 years old at the time she was the one who took care of her mom ,she fed her and cleaned her FOR those DAYS . After that one of FATIMA BROTHER CAME INTO THE PICTURE. He found out that his sister is not responding and unconscious, he called the red crescent and they took her to the hospital. THERE Fatima was found to have a ruptured cerebral aneurysm ,aka hemorrhagic stroke . she was taken to OPERATING ROOM and they clipped that bleeding artery but it was too late the damage was already done and precious Fatima NOW IN VEGETATIVE STATE IN THE ICU.

THE BROTHER TOOK THE CHILDREN to his home . they just could not understand what was happening to them, they lost their parent in few days so suddenly and now they have to live in a new home. Mariam was irritable and became isolated from the rest of the family and some time was hard to deal with. Her siblings was in their teens were very quiet and with a zombie look on their face.

1 month later the hospital called Fatima brother to take her home. He came and took her to his home. He was busy in his life and his wife could not bear take caring of a sick person. BUT SOMETHING HAPPENED HERE, Mariam emerged into a new rule ,she stayed next to her mother and taught herself to meet her mother needs.

FATIMA who was very active and strong totally independent ,who could think that this is what the future was holding for her to be in vegetative state.

Time passed by, it is already 4 years .FATIMA WAS PUT INTO a facility that take care of such patients she has been there since 3 years, her brother had to make that decision as he felt she need more and better medical care. Mariam was with her she fought to be there. FATIMA oldest son is working in the military now and got married since 1 year, sadly at his wedding he only could imagine how it would feel to have his MOM AROUND in his wedding and he only mother would act in such a situation but nothing more. He paid her a visit with his bride regularly but each time he visits her it becomes more unbearable untill he stopped visiting her .

THE MIDDLE SON has finished collage and he became an English teacher just like his mom and now planning to marry his friend sister. As for the youngest boy he is getting ready to study international law abroad. Her kids tried their best to reach out to life and always remembered what their mother taught them to be successful.

For Mariam her MOM was her world , she is like the perfect medical record for her .She has been with her in every time I saw her mother admitted into the hospital . SHE SENSE if her mother is going to be sick and the doctors always take what Mariam says or sense seriously because she has proven her self before as a true detector for her mother.

Now Mariam is 18 years old ,she knows what to do if her mother deteriorated ,she is better that any care taker I've ever meat. Fatima looking good .with beautiful face and clear skin ,she evn foes not have any bed sore despite she have been bed bound for 8 years. This is how Mariam is good in keeping her Mom at her best.

TODAY WHEN i come to see Fatima i found Mariam putting her MOTHER arms around her sleeping .

Destiny is funny ,who KNEW what Mariam the girl with down syndrome is capable too, THE ADORABLE helpful , the perfect child. after all Fatima was right to wish for her and to open her capabilities to the world.

It’s blockbuster time of the year for TV channels over the Arab world, which have all begun with the month of Ramadan, . At this time of year TV channel goes into a competition to win more audience with big-budget productions. Regardless of some muted insider muttering about economic anxieties, our TV screens stay bursting. Over 40 exceptional displays are being televised over diverse channels– including new shows and a couple of much-loved favorites, for example the Syrian strike Bab Al Hara (The Neighbour’s Gate) coming back for a fourth sequence and the Saudi comical sitcom coming back for the 16th !!! time tash ma tash 14 of them in in Saudi TV CHANNEL one

As i mentioned before that in Ramadan families and friend get together more and they enjoys gathering at homes so more watching TV.

MOST of these soap operas, stand-up comedies, performances and documentaries are aired straight away after iftar and afterwards after Taraweeh prayers, when families gather around the television’s shine and stations engagement in hard rivalry for their viewer share.

All Arab television stations during Ramadan screen big, blockbusting shows to pull in lucrative advertising revenue. Ramadan’s prime-time viewing hours are between 6.30pm and 3.00am. The regional media agencies estimate they can make up to one third of their advertising revenues for the year during Ramadan. Moreover, the Gulf is the most attractive Arab region for advertisers, with Saudi Arabia alone accounting for up to a third of total television revenue.

Many of these TV SHOWS especially the soap operas originate different questions, positions and noise in the Arabic nations, but what ever said around about them is a indicator of their success. these show try to use the bold confrontation style with many of the traditional concepts and practices prevailing negative in the community that is not necessary preclude that these shows are correct or what is being presented is the truth ,in many times it is just an simple smart attempt to capture the viewer attention.

Any how, IT IS TRUE watching those shows could be fun but PEOPLE need to take advantage of Ramadan that comes only once a year, after all it is the month of many rewards for worshipers not the month of serials and shows. WATCHING TV can BE a part of our lives may be little part but should not occupy all of our time. Besides you can always watch the reruns of them after Ramadan

DOING my patient rounds , walking down the hospital halls, THERE is a story in every room . The kind of stories that when you hear it ,you cannot help it not to think about destiny, faith and life in general. Stories that are mostly heart breaking and life changing .

room 544 ,patient name Fatima , she was admitted with health care associated pneumonia. She is 58 years lady who is bed bound since 8 year. Whenever we enter her room we find this girl who looked different with her distinctive features. I knew later that she is Ftima's daughter , she is very welcoming and always smiling

Fatima is the only daughter with 5 brothers, a high school English teacher, happily married to Awadh who is 5th grade teacher. Awadh was an only child, may be that was the reason why he wanted a big family.

She always wanted a daughter, she wanted to name her Mariam after her deceased mother, especially that she has 3 sons who are wearing her out all day long but she loved them so much ,she even left her career just to be around them and watch over them as they often put themselves in a very risky and endangering situations, like the one time when they sprayed the fire on the stove with a body spray and almost burn down the whole neighborhood.

In order to have Mariam ,Fatima tried to be pregnant 4 times after her first born son, but she ended up with 2 more boys and 2 miscarriages. Then in the 6th pregnancy she almost fainted from excitement when her OB/GYN gave her the news that she is pregnant with a girl. Her husband also was happy and he felt as he got everything he wished for in his life.

the pregnancy went very smoothly without any complications. Fatima was dreaming and fantasizing over and over about the moment her baby girl will arrive to this world. EVERYTHING SEEMED WONDERFUL LOVELY AND PERFECT.

The time has came 5 month later ,and Fatima in labor now, Mariam took a long time to come out . Fatima developed a very high blood pressure for which he needed to be given an intravenous medication . And FINALLY after 16 hours OF agonizing labor Mariam was born. But something was not right, the doctor and the midwife looked at the baby in very strange way as if they cannot believe what they are seeing . Fatima asked to see her baby ,but the doctor and his staff looked at each and seemed a bit sad. The baby did not cry, the pediatrician was assessing her and then she cried after he cleared out her air ways. A very exhausted Fatima smiled when she heard her little girl screaming, "she wants mommy"she thoughts, and asked again to see her . But hesitation in every molecule in the room .“what wrong?! ,is she OK, LET ME SEE HER “ Fatima said. THEY GAVE HER baby,FINALLY. She hugged her and showered her with kissed . Then the pediatrician asked to take the patient the NICU ( neonatal intensive care unit) as the baby was not breathing well and she might aspirated fluids into her lungs. Fatima felt very sad and like her glorious moment was take away from her but she still have a tremendous amount of hope.

Next day she went to the NICU they let her to feed her baby then the doctor came and told her that he need to do a genetic study for the baby as he is suspecting that she is showing few signs that could be related to a genetic abnormality. Fatima did not care about that especially that the doctor told her the baby is not in critical condition now. She was strangely too happy ad if she on the of the world.The left and Fatima was observing her beloved girl through the glass,her eyes was tearing from happiness and deep down her sole she was grateful and content to be the mother of this baby.

Ramadan in Saudi Arabia have a special spiritual atmosphere that does not exist in other parts of the Muslim world; may that is because the fact that it is the home land of the Two Holy Mosques which have a special place in the hearts of believers world wide.

This month begining is not very predictible which make the anticepation more fun .Her in the kingdom we rely on the broadcast media about the proof of the holy month of Ramadan.In fact media in turn to receive the news through the legitimate astronomical bodies charged with monitoring the lunar crescent. Many of the countries of the world follow the Islamic month of Ramadan, as it was proofed in the Kingdom.

With proven Ramadan ,the joy the hearts spread to everyone in the Kingdom, as well as the phrases of congratulation , saying such as: (Ramadan Mubarak to you).

Muslims if they are fit will fast in Ramadan during the day time and they will break their fasting by the sunset . Not all people are required to fast for example who are sick or unhealthy , travellers pregnant women , breast feeding mothers and children all are permitted not to fast and for adults who are not able to fast now they can fast the days another time after Ramadan.

Usually, the people of the Kingdom the break their fast at sunset time with eating dates and drinking water, and shortly the muezzin at the mosque raises his voice to call for the prayer of Magrib and everyone leave thier food to take the initiative of prayer.

After the completion of the prayers, all will go to start thier main course of the breakfast, headed by a plate of beans backed with the finest oils like municipal margarine , olive oil, as an undisputed leader in aditional food.

AND that plate of beans in the the kingdom has its own set of arts and Science ;there are usual or plane beans , and the dump, minced meat and beans, andhe tcocktail beans, beans wit eggs , beans and milk. The best types is that cooked beans is on burning coal(jamr) in which a small burning coal is the the margarine of the beans, then they cover dish to give a distinctive flavor.



It is common within the food breakfast table along with a plate of beans ,a dough stuffed with minced meat (Sambousah), soups of different types ,a bread called (Thames) and many other dishes for which people ofthe Kingdom has has been known to make in this holy month . And next to those wonderful dishes , there are the drinks like liquid yogurt and many juices like Alvimto.
The most famous types of confectionery, which are very popular in Ramadan Alknavah with cream) and Alqtaev with cream and Albesbosah and the Sham mussels.


Prior to the Ishaa (evening)and Taraweeh prayers, the people there drink red tea , and a Censer with its arabic fragrance passed around in the House - especially when it there are house guests .

There is tradition in some families to appoint a breakfast in one home each day of Ramadan,starting with the Chief or the gead of family.

After eating breakfast everyone - men and women - go out to perform the evening prayers and Taraweeh in the mosque. There is a special section of the mosque for women. The number of Taraweeh Rkaat (kneeling) prayers, IS varies .They pray 20 RAKAH in the Holy mosque and in some of the kingdom they only pray eight Rkaaat,but the majority pray twenty rak'ah. Following the prayers in the mosques, some of the imams of the mosques are giving religious lessons.

After that people gather there every night in one of the houses, chatting for some time, and then go to sleep, and rise at the around midnight or later to eat suhur, which is characterized by the existence of (local bread) ,(Arab ghee) ,(milk) and (liver) ,(soup) ,(Altqatia) and sometimes (rice and chicken) and other popular dishes.

One of the main things in Saudi ARABIA In Ramadan is the changing working hours and office hours to fit in the muslims in the holy month, in which reduced the amount of working hours by an hour a day or more,taking into account the conditions of fasting.


The charity events and (shops) spread all over the kingdom to collect donations , and everyone is invited to contribute to the needy and the poor individulas breakfast. Also Muslim are keen to establish charity banquets, and catering to needies on their own expenses. The cool water is distributed refrigerators that are found almost everywhere.


After the evening prayers and Taraweeh people get back to their social gathering that may last for some people - especially young people - till the suhur. women gather at one home, in the neighborhood usually a house of relatives or friends, and that the place of the evening is called (Herjah).


In the second half of Ramadan, many Saudis wear their Ihram clothes to perform the ritual pilgrimage, but in the last ten days of it, some of whom pull in the presentations of the Retreat Holy Mosque in Mecca. And begin tahajjud prayer at mosques around the kingdom and prayer starts at midnight ,it consists of Ten Rkaaat in which the three parts of the Koran is read daily, and those prayers will continue until after midnight or so.

After the twenty-seventh day of Ramadan, people begin distributing Zakah Fitr, and thier give aways on the poor and needy and the wayfarer, and continue to do so until shortly before the Eid prayer.

Has spread widely in the KSA are the breakfast tables, in the Islamic Communities foreign employment and resident in the Kingdom, and tables usually put near the mosques, or in places where there is the presence of such employment.

It is blessed habits in the kingdom to distribute light meals, breakfast at the traffic lights to those who Azan AlMagrib had cach them on the way to their homes, in accordance with the islamic custume to accelerate the break as soon as posisible .




That is us in Ramadan and I geuss in the rest of muslims world . Agreat month filled with more Human communication to God and to each other. It is true Ramadan is very sole and body cleansing.

I am proud to say I am a Saudi. Because I'm born and raised In my LAND Saudi Arabia i know the ultimate and the real taste of being free and proud woman, not fake  freedom that is mainly about making women an easy pawns for the male dominated world.The issue now in the western world is the gradual disappearance of the differences between men and women, in favor of men!.

Havung said all that , I do not deny that there are some law impsers with arrogant rigid mentality who try to enforse their tribal law on people.Although they are few and being haunted by the law, some are very powerful and has their own way to convince the pulic they they are rightous, IN THESE CASE YOU SEE THE King get in to solve the issue.

Women and men are different in every way,but only Islam understand that difference and know how not to put that as excuse to to discredit the women from being an equal and at some times better parteners.
As a Saudi we've been raised to be joyous of ourselves .We have been tought that so no one can take advantage of us and we stay strong and able to take our rights with our own hands.

NOW AS I'm mentioning said that many of you will said that is just your opinion. No it is my life :), which western press try to show it very distorted.

In Saudi Arabia we take our way of life from our God guidance. THE divine direction of Islam is never outdated. God sent this last religion of Islam to the whole humanity to enlighten them for ever, and his direction really works and that why the laws is always effective in creating the most peaceful place for the weak and the strong.

Here both women and men have the right to the equality in terms of human value , both are equal in liability and penalty, the same civil assignment, borders and retribution rights and duties, in seeking knowledge.
In Saudi Arabia we get paid the same as any man and we get promoted for the same reasons . We never feel that we are judged or treated on the how we look but it is what we are doing is what makes all the difference.
SINCE WE are Muslims , it is our right to wear veils and this never been a problem .IT JUST GAVE US TH FREEDOM to function more and to be more available. For some reason when we are wearing our veils, it feels like you are in direct connection with God. Most of the girls who wear Hejab really feel that it  to block all that evil in the world from you :) ,even when you get discrimanted for it in some countries,still it is very comforting , and  it has the same effect on me as meditating .

Also Saudi women it is their right to choose a spouse and to consider it. The Alimony is always on the husband and it is here right to live on his expense but she has the choice to help in the family expenses if she wanted.

We have the best men in the world .I know that there is bad guys , but the majority are good. Men plays a major role in our lives they are very nurturing ,helping and loving men and they put our needs before their own ,and they take pride of that .The relation between men and women here are men and women are complementary and not differentiation. Our idol the Messenger of Allah blessings and peace be upon him was treating the member of his family the best treatment and was assisting them in all aspects of their lives.


We are here in Saudi Arabia we are very private people, have No co-educational schools ,some  public places are divided into tow sections one of the male and of female. That made everyone very respectful to the other.

In Saudi Arabia girls are treated literally like queens ,they are been drove to where they need by their drivers or male relatives.

Islam improved the status of women and put them in their natural place , and gave them the rights which have been denied them that status, under the darkness of ignorance and corruption of the customs and traditions.


In some parts of India, women are still judged to be BURNED in fire alive with her deceased
husband's coffin. In China there is this religion in which they present a young version girls as a sacrifice to their God .In USA there is a woman being raped in every 2 minutes .BUT do we ever hear about those major issues ?! well almost never, ecause unfortunatly it started to ecome as a norm there.

I love my country . I am a conservative Saudi to the core . Peace is my symbol. I am a descendant of glorious nation. We are of great Influence We have the past , we own the present and our future of light. We are unique.

For a while now I'M RECIEVING QUETIONS about the Saudi board exam questions ,so i decided to write about that.

There are 3 types of written exams in INTERNAL MEDICINE Saudi board, the promotion, part one and part two exam. Then there is the clinical exam.

The promotion written exam is the exam that the residents in the board need to take it each year, while part one exam is needed to be taken in the first two years. Part two exam should be done after finishing the 4 year board training

These exam consist of 100 questions in form of multiple choice questions . Usually the aim to choose best answer of five choices.


The questions usually similar to questions from Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine MCQS , Cecil Textbook of medicine Medicine MCQS AND the MKSAP review questions , with images from French's Differential Diagnosis Book, Forbes & Jackson's Color Atlas & Text Of Clinical Medicine with some electrocardiography images from Marriotts Practical Electrocardiography.



I HIGHLY recommend the above sources to any resident planning to join pr preparing for the exams of Saudi board of Internal Medicine. In the future I will bring some of the previous exams questions for you to downloads. 2 weeks ago I was assigned to a new patient . There was nothing strange about this case and it seemed like a usual community acquired pneumonia in a middle aged diabetic lady who was the center of her family and was responding to her treatment so far especially that her testing for H1N1 INFLUENZA was negative . But by the end of the day the nurses called me as the patient OXYGEN REQUIREMENT increased TO 15L/min. I went to evaluate her and found her in respiratory distress, and confused. We acted quickly and her labs and x ray was worsening and very different form 18 hours ago. We incubated here and admitted her to the ICU. Patient got stabilized but she is still in critical condition.

I came outside the ICU. I found her family looking for answers. I TOLD them what we know so far which is she developed severe community acquired pneumonia most probably because she is diabetic with metabolic syndrome . Then they asked me the “QUESTION “ is she going to die?!. I JUST TOLD THEM WE ARE DOING THE BEST FOR HER and let’s hope it works.

God it suppose to be an infection and it is so unreal to me that patient CAN DIE from just a chest infection in this time of modern medicine??... I STARTED to revise my differentials I retook here history the only thing we know more is that she had some dental implants in a neighbor country 10 months ago ,but there was nothing more helping . I tested her for everything that cause inertial pneumonitis and all came negative except one I thought it was the least possible ,she was HIV positive with very low CD4 , and she got PEUMOCYSTIC chest infection. We changed the antibiotics hoping that she respond. Now I ended up with this very sick unconscious patient on the verge of death and a very loving family wanting more answers.

The eldest son came that day alone looking for her treating team because he believes in his heart that she is dying. He asked me to tell him everything and that he can take it. I was wondering ,how can I tell him about her HIV/AIDS STATUS , should I?!, maybe I should , AS the whole family need to be tested now , maybe it is better if I leave it to TE PREVENTIVE MEDICINE DEPARTMENT and a social worker to handle it , I really wish that she wake up now and call him ...while i was drowning more in my own thoughts,he asked me again what the results of the tests?! . so I told him! The words just came out….and the poor guy just went blank…then said but this is must be false are you are sure you are on the right track here and you are not treating here got a wrong diagnosis , I said we are sure of this , he replied in very frail and hurting voice : how it can’t be ??!!. I just did not find the words he looked at his mom and kissed her in the forehead then said please save my mother ?!. later he left in very complete silence. Then I managed to extract few words and I TOLD HIM to bring his father so he can be tested… "

The patient is dying and showing all the poor prognostic criteria not responding to anything we are giving and now shestart to bleed bleeding from everywhere. The husband came with his son . the husband still does not have a clue , no one told him yet. THIS TIME my consultant was around and he talked to them again the husband took it very reasonably considering the situation he agreed to be tested . They went to visit her . Few days later I knew that the husband test result came out negative . My guess she got it during that dental procedure she had it done 10 months ago…

Today the patient was deteriorating more , and her heart stopped several times ,we called the family to spend time with her. We were all looking at them surrounding their lady of the house slipping away .The women who is always in charge of organizing their life BUT now she is not even able to open her eye to see how much they love her. May be she know that already. Then her heart stopped again but this time is forever. The WHOLE ICU was filled with an overwhilming sadness .Their grieving voices were of all different types but all mean one thing ...that they can not live with out her.

As for me I just felt sorry, sorry they had to continue the rest of their lives without their mother. Sorry for being the one who is connected with the moment that changed their life for ever . I’m sorry that our lives crossed like that . Sorry for not being able to save her. So sorry for them and so sorry for me. All I meant is to help …

What happened in Saudi Arabia from a wide prosperity, progress and civilization surge reflected on how medicine evolved in this part of the world . It is very evolved ,that we have so much to do to the patient, and we are very much dependant on the new technology, that available all the times even after the business hours, you can ask CT SCAN, echocardiogram .ultrasounds, and thrombolytic s at any time all the time and it all for free .


The health system in Saudi Arabia still heavily dependent on funding from the public treasury of the State by up to almost 80%. We do not have an insurance health system. Everyone treated the same and for free .

Sometimes I FEEL we are losing our clinical touch as we let those radiological images show us directly what is going wrong with the patient.

In another times it becomes very silly when you find yourself running around following lots of investigations . …all for only one patient. Many are unnecessary tests ,what a waist for a precious resources....


If the ELECTRONIC OR computer system went down for some reason but mostly due to overload ,things go crazy rounds get delayed …you can’t view x-rays, or patients labs, and the lab phones get busy as everyone trying to call them for their patients tests results.

This health system gets abused or over used . The doctor keep on going wild in ordering investigations. Patient number is increasing ,and it takes them forever to see a doctor DUE to the huge number of patients ,JUST TAKE A LOOK AT ER waiting area , and you know . This is resulted in another problem with the doctors.. there are not enough of them , not because it hard to get to medical school or because there are few who wants to be doctors …not at all . It is because we have huge numbers of foreigners in coming to work here and most of them middle agem not to mention Hajj season which attract more that 4 million pilgrims mostly elderly from worldwide. SO BASICALLY WE are very accustomed to DEALL with variety of illness from different part of the world…but there are just few of us .

So TO make more doctors ,they brought more from outside. Those doctors for most of the time are not THAT well trained to work on this part of the wold. Some of them only Aim to collect the largest amount of money as possible , then go back home!!! Some of them consider their practice here as just a stop station in their way to the western country as they learn about modern medicine here and get a very qualifying experience .

Since one month I'm working with this American Pakistani senior registrar who just finished her American board for internal medicine last year, she came here planning to get the experience tht qualify her to be consaltant . My problem with here she cant really make a decision, she is always very puzzleed by any case she face .The other day she called me asking me what antibiotic to give!!!!! . in another incidencant she called me saying she wants to do a pleural tap but she never done it ....on the bright side she have the desency to call and ask ....but I cant leave here alone handelling the patients other wise bad things can occure. ...she is driving me crazyI REALLY THINK THOSE docs have BEEN NOT READING or updating them self for long time!!!.


Last April THE ministry of health initiated a new insurance system named Cooperative health insurance system FOR NON Saudis ,in few hospitals to study its effectiveness. I seems to me from what we have been told that the financing of this system is relying on installments paid by participants in partnership with businessmen . Those contributions THEN USED for the improvement and development of health services in both quantity and quality. I REALLY hope this work because there is large numbers of foreign workers in many institutions and are putting load on the health system up to 28% of the hospitalized patients!!! All over the kingdom which reflected negatively on the services provided by the kingdom to the Saudi citizens in certain times.

I was on call for the last 3 weekends. last Wednesday i was on call . It was one of th most busiest duties ,i did not eat or sleep for the whole 24 hours. Everyone is need you for something .ER physicians are holding some patients for me to review, surgical consultations for pre and post operative assessments, or to help in finding out the source of the sepsis !!!! and OB/GYN calling several times TO rule out pulmonary embolism or the control a blood sugar for their patient. Thanks God there were no code blues or any mortality that day.

I was running around in the whole hospital. I GOT SEVERE heart burn nausea and palpitations. I went to ER and I asked for pantoprazole and antiemetic injection…there just no time to get sick. The ER PHSCIAN WHEN HE SAW ME there he asked to review this senior patient who has the same symptoms as I do, I started her on some medications and scheduled here for Upper gastric ENDOSCOPY and gave her one weak sick leave.

on Thursday morning I knew that the on call ended when I saw the sun rays coming out the ER entrance. Wow what a beautiful light , I'm so tired .I was feeling numb everywhere in my skin, bones and my sole. I went out side , I stood in the sun light. What a worm feeling . I stood there until I felt the sun heat penetrating my insides. It felt good.

THEN I WNT HOME , my parent called saying there ARE SPENDING THE NEXT 2 DAYS WITH ME . oh ’God how much can one take. They passed by me and took me with them .We spent the whole day out in the some big fancy Park where a festival was taking place . In our way to that park we passed by this village where there was no one around except for few people. Their shops were closed ,my father said they must be sleeping .Sleep! I remembered that sweet function that my body is missing since long time. I really Love to have long peaceful sleep without worrying about anyone or waking up on a pager alarm .
That was my last in call on July but I’m on call tomorrow and I will be every 2 days. it is summer time and most of us on their annual leaves and the patients must b to b attended well. Things are tough .I already lost 2 kg of my weight last months from all the stress ,poor eating and lack of sleep. And guess what I’m on call next weekend too.
