Image by Kodak Agfa via FlickrIn 1990 ,Saddam Hussein Invaded Kuwait. The LEADERS of Yemen with the Governments of Sudan , all have decided to stand on the side of Saddam Hussein.
Kuwait has recovered after the invasion, but the countries hit by the curse of Saddam has still not recovered, and are bleeding the price and bleeding .
Tens of thousands of Yemeni labors in the Gulf were forced to return to to their home country. Also thousands of Iraqis Emigrated out from Yemen. As a result The Yemen's economy received a deadly hit, and since those days Yemen is drowning in wars between the north and south and the north and the north, between tribe and the state, the family and clan.In Sudan, the complexity of wars has escalated . conflicts stretching from the north and south to make to the war in Darfur the most violent civil war in history of human.
The current Yemen ordeal with the Huthis is just a cry of help and what a deadly cry, that got managed to get on the surface to the world to see .This malfunctioning world in our beloved Yemen is BECAUSE the Officials of the ruling party in there failed Yemenis over and over in the past three decades. And what amaze me more that after so many years of failing to achieve the simplest kinds of safety and stability required this government still strongly adhere to the authority as if it want to prove to everyone its well-deserved deficit failure. This country on the way to many wars, if the development wheel did not roll in it immediately . The government need to spend lots o times in fighting Poverty and ignorance instead of fighting its people. It should pay more attention and sympathy to the Yemenis ,support them and give them more opportunities to thrive in every aspect ,to give them all reasons to belong , to want to be Yemenis to replace the urging desire of Huthis and the South to secede.
In my opinion, the solution for the problems in Yemen at this stage needs a genuine involvement of neighboring countries to contribute by what ever it take to help Yemen to prosper and development into a modern state. They need to know that they are not alone in this and we are there for them .At the same time the officials in Yemen and the people must work hard to find a common ground they can meet to solve all of their conflicts.
London Conference which took place in the British capital at the invitation of Prime Minister, last Wednesday came out with recommendations that were confusing as situation it Coincided with . It ended with resolutions did not touch the mysterious essence of the crisis of Yemen in their various manifestations, except for the sadly supporting the Yemeni government in its suppressive war against its people.
Unfortunately, that people pay a price for bad choices their governments aided by the current international toxic support which leads to more suffering of the Yemeni peoples and the growing sense of oppression.
